The American Civil War created quite a few such weapons, starting from so-known as “volley” guns that sprayed quite a few rifle bullets unexpectedly like a shotgun, to multishot, semi-automatic weapons much like the Agar machine gun, which was nicknamed the “coffee grinder” for that way it fed its ammunition.
